Taking out grand processions in honour of different deities by the devotees has been an integral part of the culture of the ancient city Kashi or Banaras or Varanasi. Each of these divine processions has its own history of development and importance in association with the city, which were discussed in length and breadth by the scholars in a two-day seminar organized under the annual feature 'Radiance of Kashi' on the 1^st & 2^nd of August 2013. Well known scholars of Kashi who presented their viewpoints during the academic sessions were : Prof. Dharma Sheel Chaturvedi, Dr. Vinod Rao Pathak, Dr. Madhav Janardan Ratate, Shri Kanhaiya Lal Yadav, Prof. Ganga Dhar Panda, Dr. Shyam Bapat, Pandit Shri Ram Sharma, Prof. Girish Chandra Chaudhary, Dr. Pramod Giri, Shri Shri Bhal Shastri, Shri Ram Gopal Sarraf and Dr. Niraj Kumar Pandey. The Keynote Address was delivered by Prof. Kamlesh Datt Tripathi and the seminar was coordinated by Prof. Yugal Kishor Mishra. The proceedings of the event are brought out in a book form for the benefit of the readers.
